Without delving into any form of explanation or description, Banjar is a hit straight from the first note. Kabul Express is a documentary where unusual music is demanded and also needs to be in sync with the theme of the movie. Experimental and world music are slowly making an entry. Formulaic music has been tested and tried for decades. Raghav Sachar has been given the right project at the right time – a time when offbeat movies are finding a place in Bollywood. In the past, very talented musicians have tried their hand at composing for movies but not all of them have been successful. It requires another skill which all aspiring music directors either need to learn or polish. However, composing for movies is serious business. Picture this: He plays 24 instruments, graduated from a top university (Melbourne, Australia) with a music degree, has two pop albums in his kitty, is a hot favorite among fashion designers, has done the background score for some Bollywood movies and is only 24! And now he is in the Yash Raj Camp at this age when long established music directors have been waiting for ages to work (some have even lost hope!) with Yash Raj Films. The name of this music director may not be ringing any bells for many but Raghav Sachar is one talented artist.

Let us know what you think about this review Movie Review Reviewed by: Gianysh Toolsee - Rating: 6.5 / 10 Singers: Raghav Sachar, Shubha Mudgal, Sunidhi Chauhan, and K.K.Īudio On: Yash Raj Music Number of Songs: 9 Lyrics: Aditya Dhar, Swaratmika Mishra, and Vijay Kumar Music: Raghav Sachar and Julius Packiam (Guest) I’ve put myself into all the criteria that a musician is involved in.Starring: John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, and Salman Shahid I compose, I also sing in male and even female vocals, I record, I engineer and compose music as well and even write lyrics. I find music in everything, be it the rain, a hammer on a nail, the sound of wind- everything has music. Recently I picked up the trumpet which has been used in my up-coming film. I enjoy playing the acoustic guitar, grand piano, recorder, drums, tenor recorder, trumpet, tenor saxophone. So I think that’s where I inherited my musical genes. My father used to play the harmonica, at parties and my mother used to play the sitar. No body in my family has been into music but my parents used to be fond of music.

My parents are are the reasons why I’m able to do what I’m doing. I’m the youngest and the most pampered member of my parents. My father retired as the director general of police. So you had quite a musical childhood then! Initially my father wasn’t sure if I would still be into music but then my parents saw that I was really serious about my music and they further encouraged me. I travelled all over the world and bought and learnt one instrument that I liked from different countries. He religiously did that till I was 18 and then I started earning for myself and kept buying all sorts of different instruments that I liked. Since then I struck a deal with my father that he would have to gift me a new musical instrument on every birthday. I started playing my first instrument (harmonica) when I was four years old. So he bought me one on my birthday and that’s how it all started. I used to see my father play the harmonica and asked him to teach me to play it. Raghav shares his musical experiences and talks about his favourite companion, Tenor his dog. Multi faceted Raghav Sachar effortless wears many hats at a time -he’s a musician, composer, a vocalist who can sing in both male and female vocals, can play 33 different musical instruments (and counting) and even owns a pet who sings and no, it’s not a bird but a dog.
